wholesale started in 2018. 6 figure flips using hard money (expensive money, you cant hold on to the properties)

You can make money with box truck, heard it 3 times in one day.

Kent, started it January. He started prior. he came from 18 wheelers. Nov of that year in Amazon. 

January 2021 started the 

Wait, with $3,500 I can start get in the game? I started renting box trucks.

That's my safe lane. I say 5k just to get up and running with the box truck. 

purchase the truck, Jan 2020 box truck one was 2100. 1700. fleet owned trucks. within 6 months, had shot up to 70k-80k for a truck. more expensive to rent than buy.

1k a month. with renter is higher. maintenance, you don't have to pay for that. 

Buddyfab: I spend 10k a month on tires. tires pop. I've been in trucking for 20 years. he's teaching me something.

Q: isnt renting 3,000 a month?

440 a week. base pay plus 4 cents a mile. enterprise down to 400 a week. 

What company you rent from?

Budget 475 a week. not plentiful. then 2 trucks from penske. sweetest deal, brand new. then they severed ties with Amazon. 

1k then they give you a truck. then it was 2500 deposit. thne it was 25k deposit to get a truck, so hard to scale. 

-gotta have your own insurance. 

Buddyfab:  $700 to $750 a week. 3k a month. I bought a 2021 mac truck. i piad 97k. payment are 2200 a month. that's not bad if they paying for tires or if something breaks on a truck.

you buying a new truck with guarantee.

Buddyfab:  you still renting trucks? right now?

yes! still renting!

Buddyfab:  you doing this for 2 years and still renting trucks. if its profitable, keep doing it. 

box truck shawty: lot of ppl would come to me. as soon as truck break down, 17k bill. couldnt afford to get the truck fixed. he's renting a truck to pay for a truck that he has a loan on.

Buddyfab:  we started with 13k. it was  workhorse. any breakdown, we would have been out of business. if you can afford a new truck, buy that. 

Buddyfab: follow same rules? EID log? 

Yes, unless 150 miles outside of your homebase. 

no need for log book because we go on 100 mile radios. 

if you go too far, this is me. this is my formula. they think its the same as a semi. with a box truck with amazon. loads are at night time. we might go to alabama, nothing coming back into ATL. deadheading a lot. ppl make mistake on going too far. try to stay local. 

Buddyfab: i stay delaware to south carolina .money is not the same. they gonna give you the cheapest rates because they know you gotta go back home. i tell people. dont think when they throw a big number that its all profit. tolls, driver, fuel. its not gonna stay there.

Buddyfab: been in this truck game for 15 years. i dont cross state lines. for my dump trucks. 

Amazon requires you to have it. they want you to have it no matter what state you are in. we need our own MC#.

Buddyfab: why only Amazon?

to me, no factoring company. dont have to have a dispatcher. dispatcher is 10%. Don't have to pay someone that. 

other companies doesnt operate like amazon. you go and load is ready for pickup. I have seen people wait 10 hours for the load. I don't like filling out paperwork. I was still working  a 9 to 5pm. I don't have time to do all that of. they pay me every Friday, no paperwork. run the company form my cell phone. that's the reason why I do it. 

My drivers are home everyday as well so i dont pay for lodging. 

Buddyfab: i got a contract for my box trucks. i dont go on load board or anything.

question: how much is it for 3rd party compliance. she charges 650. cost 400 to do it yourself.

If you mess up with amazon, you can't apply forever. if you check off the wrong goods, it messed it all up. i pay that price for peace of mind.

Buddyfab: how do you build relationship?

I don't have to. I book loads on Friday. they deposit my money every Friday. drivers have a problem, they go to the app and request a call back. and literally they call you in 5 minutes. 

so I never really had a problem with amazon.

Buddyfab do you have a contract with amazon?

you are referring for spot loads. amazon has spot load works. pops up sporadically. i didnt do a contract. when i started, you needed to have 5 trucks to do it. 3 loads was good, 3 loads are crappy. i find good loads myself. you can get a contract now i think with 1 truck. 

Buddyfab: break down: amazon has an app.

browser, and populate throughout the day. has dedicated lane, you can have same route every single day. i dont do the dedicated contract. 

Buddyfab: how long to have your authority. 

0 days. they dont have seniority. amazon gonna give you test run for 3 days. if you do all correct. you get early access. you can book same loads as an experienced person. 

Buddyfab that's crazy. amazon turned them down. mc number wasnt 90 days or older.

no they didnt have the MC done right. 1500 people on amazon. but

42k i found. i'll buy that but not 90k for 2016 with 300k miles on it. that doesnt make sense.

amazon: 4 metrics. time: 

if you book a load, if you reject that load it goes against acceptance score.

asign a driver to that load. they think you not gonna pick up a load. people so happy to book a load, they assign.

amazon want the app to get to the load.

A lot of those people dont want to say they never learned how amazon functions with a bad score. 

how much you pay driver?

$135 a day they bring. then i can make some money too. i gotta keep them happy. short runs, home everyday. while freight is on the truck. i dont pay them for going and coming. 

some people do hourly. if load is 6 hours they will tell you its 8 hours and go get coffee, take longer. logistic pay by percentage, 

$600 a day, 130 miles. you pay $150. next week that load pays $200. driver will say call me when you get those big loads. january, your driver gone. over paid him.

2 day training, 3 day course. eveyrthing you need to know how to load. all night ride along. you send drivers and ill train them.
