INTIMACY WITH THE LORD

 "I don't want my children to have a check in the box relationship with me"


Jose- I did have this with him. if I did this, if I served, tithed, went to church, followed all these rules. read my Bible for 15 minutes. if I do these devotions that was going to get me closer to God. 


THAT"S NOT IT. God wants us to have a relationship with me like we have with each other. talk to him throughout the day. 


he's not intereted in our church attentdance. he's looking for us to LOVE HIM AND LOVE OTHERS. going to church is going to help but its all about our heart posture. 



Religion teaches check in the box relationship. for those who are married, do you ever talk to God about your spouse?


Talk to God about your anger, insecurities, I talk to God about getting into a diet. its not a 'religion' its a relationship. 


Coming to me, growing closer to him, and having god remove these things out of me. i want to stop drinking, i want to stop cursing, it helps me grow in God. 


We are almost done. it goes on to say, perfect love casts out fear. we have not fully experience.


He loved us first. If we don't love people that we can see, how can we love God that we can't see? Those who love God must love other believers. Getting into that intimacy, with God. Will take away every single tear, every single face. All of that. 


We have to start spending time with God. loving God is a reflection of how we love people. how do we get to a place that we love people because we love God. We fall so in love with God, we can't help but love people. 


Take away these barriers, there was nothing. how do we do that? 


1st part- getting along with God. Jesus teaches us how to do that. 

Matthew 6: 5-8 


go into a room (secret place) , go into a closet. 

and when you shut your door, pray to your father which is in secret. THAT INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP. 

close the door, no distractions, you father which sees in secret shall reward thee openly. 


your father that sees in secret, GOD IS THERE. your father who sees in secret, will reward you openly. and when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathens do. for they think they will be heard. 


those are things that are needed of us.  in that special place, in the presence of God. God changed my heart, bring me closer to you. God hold me, God teach me to love you more. IT is you in him. 


Try that for a week. Psalm 139


David was a man after God's own heart. When we love God. 




Exodus 20: 1-6

I am the Lord your God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt , out of the house of bondage. 


anything can become an idol. does that thing, dictate how you react? does it control your feelings, your emotions, does it consume your thoughts? do you get angry?

 LEXI -Seen prophets charge 999 to get in line. and their gift leaves. that's crazy, you not supposed to charge for that. Today

 Today I reached happiness I walked out of work and walked Just walked for lunch break didnt feel pressure to eat. Ate after work, a dinner of drunk noodle Parts of my life that need to be organized: what to eat, weight to lose. I have moved to a new place that offers so many things: gym in front (cant quite afford yet) and bakeries and walk to school even though we did it only once on Monday now my son is off for a week. I'm draggin my feet into this job for bank, cannot imagine myself doing that. I also keep saying I applied for housing when I didnt. I think i find it easier to lie than to tell the truth: my dreams are way way bigger than this town. I rather not even do it.
