Celtic holiday, pagan holiday

Veil was the thinnest. Oct 31st when the ghosts of the dead return to earth. 

considered when dead and living, dead would come back to earth. they allowed the spirits to cross over. 

Spirits would cross over. that dead spirits would come back. 18th century, Pope Gregory, Nov 1st he created a holiday to honor the saints, all saints day.

Also know as hallow ween. the church started worshiping the dead and honoring the dead so they started merging the pagan holiday and the Catholic all saints day.  souls would cross over into the living, where they worshiped the day, the spirits, and Christian tradition became a part of it. 

Honoring saints, then worshiping saints. 

Some of the stuff they used to do- solling. tradition, where its trick or treating. people would go and knock in peoples home and you had to provide something, an offering, and pray for the dead. collect the offering, then offer it to the dead.

That's where it started.

Devil is good at hiding these things. what is your offering? 

Last one, Jack o lantern, started with a tradition that is stingy jack. they carbed into turnips to create these faces to scare off evil spirits. believe the evil spirits would cross over form the dead. did the jack o later to

They would cut animals heads and put it around them, if they were costumes those spirits wouldn't even recognize them to torment them. they can blend in with all the evil spirits. 

It's innocent, the root is what we all focus on. we as Christians cannot be naive to the root. 

Matthew 12: 22

Then a demon possessed man was blind and couldn't speak

The crowd was amazed and asked. could it be that Jesus is the son of David, the messiah?

No wonder you can cast out demons. 

The minute Jesus cast out the demons, he could see. it teaches us the sickness, the lust, the temptation can be a demon. 

He gets their power from Satan, the king of demons. any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. if Satan is casting out Satan, he is divided and fighting against himself. 

Giving us authority 

The spirits are subject.

If I'm not moving in faith, then I give in to fear, I give faith to fear and there is my works.
