Dispatching LIVE sat 5.7.22

- Start getting ready for recession. be prepared. have money.

you will not be able to get prepared in a recession

-some carriers don't want to move until it's worth it.

-box truck in Texas looking for dispatcher.. iMCJFROM21 IG

-gotta be 9am at the truck stops. dont go at 3pm. that's late for them.

ROLE PLAY:

how to vet carriers.

-she doesnt cold call. at the beginning. after a point, word of mouth is the thing.

-you can tell by a phone call if the carrier is for you. if i'm saying its not realistic and your adament.

i would ask equiptment type and what they are looking is dispatching

'i need to make this guaranteed money'

you do your best to get as close to get their quota but cant guarantee anything. i'm not the dispatcher for you.

'home every night': you want to make 8k and a hotshot week. and you want to be home everyday that's not going to work. be transparent. even if you are afraid you are going to lose business. you have to let them know what it is.

'give me 30 days to move you. let me show you what you can do if you are able to stay out. end of month you don't like it, we tried it'

-ran into carriers say they want you to be their dispatcher then they become their own dispatchers. have to nip that in the bud from the beginning. trust me enough to make decisions to get you moving. i'm not going to call you to green light every load. (no time for that).

-deadhead is less, lower miles. opposed to sitting at home, allow your dispatcher to dispatch.

MC less than 90 days. allow your MC to build as well. once you cancel the load, that broker will not work with you. if you cancel loads, you will not move. especially dispatcher knows it makes sense. the dispatcher knows what to do once you hit that market.

*********-DOCHUB, and Docusign carriers have. to do carrier packet.

********-PDF Filler another users.

-new carriers need dispatchers. i've had carriers that want to dispatch themselves after a couple of months.

have a strategy when booking loads. its 4k load. 26k miles. height of load, weight. hills and mountains. is there load coming back? up north, tolls, permits. states you need permits for.

- we make it look too easy. let me dispatch you out of it.

-find carrier to work together and they will allow you to do your job. partnership.

-**** i actually do that, i do an evelatuation. we do break even and calculate lowest per mile they can take. we're trying to stay at that. figure that out for your carriers. You want to know their minimum. how much is truck insurance, payment, how much to fill up gas. calculating their cost and...dispatch to help their customer make money and grow.

-high turnover, the math aint mathing.

**as dispatchers you start educating these new carriers. **

-rebuttal: i dispatch my own truck. 1 hour a day on the boards, 5 hours he could have been driving, paperwork to factoring, send it back, take more time to do that, when it doesnt clear..
