DO OTHER THINGS, NOT JUST DISPATCH. 

-You can dispatch freight, there are other industries (besides trucking, there is railway and air freight). 

It takes a year to get all the qualifications. Only 2,500 people in the world that is doing it. 

-always be thinking how to expand, how to get better. 

I've been looking into federal government and state government. It's information. Be willing to learn.  

-got me 2 calls from the federal government, from what this dude taught me in Zoom call for 30 minutes, in regard to placing a bid for government contracts. 

It's about learning, networking, reading. be willing to diversity. when something is slowing down, (freight dispatching) have some alternative income. have something to make up for that. be open to other opportunities. 

-Look into government contracting. I got the call yesterday for 1 contract. hauling equipment, the football equipment. from one location to the next. But they want to have a dedicated trucks that do that, all the time. It's a 3 year contract. 

-1 this morning I want to go through. What this guy told me the other day was true. the way he told me to set up my profile. Now, getting the responses that I want. He told me where to go and what to find it, I did it instantly.

****how long to get first carrier?***

started advertising in social media, got first carrier within a week. 

Right carrier? No. 10 box trucks and 5 sprinter vans. That wasn't a good start. 

After going through box truck thing, quickly rethought the situation. I am going to start doing hotshots. 

A factoring company reached out and he started sending me business. Network, network! Let people know who you are and what you are doing. You cannot do it alone guys. 

The way of the world is social media.  Majority of my carriers have come from social media. It doesnt take long.

COLD CALLING

-Great resource to contact carriers. Good to send them emails then follow up with a call. 

-DAT board, look at business partners. it comes up with a list and with all their information. What kind of status is company, accidents, tickets, all of that information is on DAT. 

-Build a team of hotshot drivers that are in Texas. run all week and home on the weekend. oil fields. 

highest rates in Texas and the most ports. Access to freight. Loads coming in and out, its 5k to 7k loads. 

Texas, california, Georgia and Illinois. 

Illinois is a hotspot as well. I'm going to look at the numbers going in and going out. They pay really well on their loads. 

List on my wall of hot states, Illinois is actually one of the states. 

Texas is a great place to make great money. Oil fields during the day, be home at night and make great money. 

-FMCSA I think its longer process to get the list. In DAT, it comes up faster. FMCSA, they are brand new they want to start running so it might be good. Great source, new guys and they need to get some loads quickly. they bought insurance and equipment and they want to make their money back. That list is a great source. New guys and they really need to get some loads quickly. 

-DAT Directory, beneath that there is a tab that says 'How to find business partners', click on that, and go on and little more details and find those carriers. 

-Go into where the post trucks are, they are looking for loads. they want loads. in DAT board, they are looking for loads right now. on DAT, go on 'looking for trucks'. Great tool, lot of resources. 

Under 'post trucks' they are looking for loads right now. Call those guys and say, tell them about yourself. Do you typically run this route? what kind of rate do you expect to get on your load? if not ready to speak to you right there, can we set up a better time to speak? set up an appointment to speak to them and follow up. 

**POST TRUCKS so that brokers can call you***

-DAT platform, you can post your trucks so that brokers are reaching out to you. minimizes you calling for loads. when you post loads, post specific information about where to pick up and where to go. 

Comment section: put in there, no TARP loads. Be very specific on what to look for. 

**GREAT TIPS FOR RECRUITING***

-I'm offering a lot of other services to take advantage of. 

-look it up how to TARP a load.  Look it up on Youtube. It's physical hard work.
