Convo with DeAundre- I CAN DO THIS! I AM A LEADER!

 - TDP helps me get real life experience

-career prep

best with people new to cyber security prep

-look up job descriptions, am I ready?

I said, how do I knew?

Linked In workshop, resume shop, recordings for this year.

I will send those to you. In there are a lot of different documents.

Lot of tidbits and advice that I put in there.

Not BC related. things that I know that work.

COMMON DENOMINATOR- THEY DID NOT APPLY FOR THE JOB

through networking and recruiters.

Don't rush this process. If you do, you will be part of the group that are struggling to get a job.

Harder to get entry-level role, than a mid level and senior level job.

Don't have the experience. I have never been part of any other bootcamp. no other bootcamp I know of, whether to be 1 month or 4 month to work in part of a 500 fortune company.

Building a PCI posture. never had PCI Compliance. Experience you'll be able to get here, and speak to in an interview is way more valuable than what is inside the CASP program.

With my leadership, to make sure others pass. You can be team lead, set you apart from rest of the people from the internships.

Being able to lead 14-15 people. qualify for senior level roles.

I AM IN THE RIGHT PLACE.

if you ever want to book a one on one, leaving soon. June 2024. I'm going to be hired this month.

I would extend my calendar I would extend my calendar and share that with you.

consultants do, LEARN, LEARN, LEARN. Completely negated and ignored what about the transition process?

Preparing my team for the transition leaving TDP to cybersecurity roles.

Non-mandatory. process of what that looks like, and how to get started. since you oractice nist, hippa, the requirements are provided to me. on my computer. i will go and read table of contents, familiarize myself. control and F and pc f on a mac. minimum password.

what are top IT skills that recruiters look for for compliance analyst roles? for  security management roles.

what from my resume are transferable skills would be valuable in those roles that are listed above?

based on the new found transferrable skills from the resume, help me format and tailor each bullet point to speak to an IT or hiring manager?

Network, network, network. Network, talk to people.

talk to everyone in my team, other teams. start connecting to other people in their team. Oh hey I see your senior chief security officer at American Airlines. as I am new to cyber, as I am in the payment card industry and i aspire to get to the level that they are. from there, what's your availability to chat for 10-20 minutes and go from there.

people love talking about themselves and they love helping people. if you dress it up you need their help.

BUT YOU DO. the numbers game, with this recruiting thing. one recruiter reached out,

Hey VJ, in the event this opportunity doesn't turn into a role. can i speak to you every 2 weeks to see about any new roles. or new skills that i need to develop.

upload my resume to linked in, it pushes fresh entries to recruiters. everytime.

MISSION- if you choose to accept it. it will help a lot of clarity to a lot of different things.

introduce yourself to group 13. you starting on the right.

for a one on one, you've gotten a head start on a lot of people that are new.

he's a team lead. full scoop on everything.

WHAT MADE YOU HELP ME?

advice, you reached out to me for advise, give back to others. what made me help you, i know, i remember what it was like in your shoes. i wish someone would have helped me.

and all i ask of you is that you give it back.

LOVE IT!

It made me feel so valuable. Someone seeing the leadership qualities in me.
